Destination Arrival

At your destination you will be greeted by a representative at the airport and will be driven by private car to your hotel or guesthouse.  Most surgeons require two days on the ground prior to hospital admission for the pre-operative tests, x-rays and consultations. This is to overcome jet lag and familiarize you with the new surroundings.  Surgery is scheduled the second hospital day followed by recovery and recuperation for the number of hospital nights in the package.  If additional nights are required, they range from $150 to $300 per night depending on hospital.  This is usually cheaper than a Western style hotel.  In most cases traveling companions/spouses can stay in the hospital room on a sleeper sofa if requested.  Flowers, Fruit and Children are not permitted in patient rooms in our private hospitals to reduce the chance of infections.  This is a dramatic difference from US hospitals.  You will often have one on one nursing care for your hospital stay.  Don’t be surprised when the local nurses eagerly want to help the American and treat you special!
