High Volumes = Better Outcomes

In countries such as India, because of the huge population, the top surgeons sometimes perform weekly surgery volumes that American counterparts find impossible to believe. Many surgeons work six day weeks becase that’s the norm. A top notch cardiac surgeon may do 15-surgeries a week. My knee surgeon and his team routinely do over 100 Total Knee Replacements per month with Western manufactured implants. A good high volume US surgeon is lucky to do that many in a full year. Best Outcomes are delivered by surgeons and hospitals that do high volume in a given surgery. That’s true no matter what country or region.
